Comic Studies: Wartime Autobiographix

Those of you that follow my ramblings on Twitter will know that I am currently enrolled in a postgraduate degree in Comic Studies. I'm enjoying it immensely! The first module is on Autobiographix and Documentary Comics.

I'm writing about my progression through the course, and what comic studies itself actually entails for Comic Book Resources, and the latest of my columns has just gone live. This week we looked at wartime comics, focusing on Barefoot Gen by Keiji Nakazawa, and Art Spiegelman's Maus and In the Shadow of No Towers.

Comics Studies: CBR Column 2

Those of you that follow my ramblings on Twitter will know that I am currently enrolled in a postgraduate degree in Comic Studies. I didn't really have any intention of returning to university until this course popped up, and I'm enjoying it immensely.

I'm writing about my progression through the course, and what comic studies itself actually entails for Comic Book Resources, and the second of my columns has just gone live. The main focus of study that week was Harvey Pekar, the godfather of autobiographix.
